Mailchimp’s knowledge base is a good place to start for help with changes to their applications.
Thank you.
MailChimp sent out an announcement last week that there was a new MailChimp coming. It’s now available for all users.
What does this mean for you? What did they really do?
It means you need to get used to a new layout and finding things in different places than you are used to.
Don’t worry, MailChimp hasn’t changed what they do, they changed how you work with them.
The changes MailChimp made focus on making the software more responsive. That means it doesn’t matter if you’re looking at your MailChimp account on a tablet or a laptop, it will look similar and you’ll be able to do the work you need to do.
They also added in collaboration-friendly features, specifically within campaign building. I am looking forward to this change.
Not ready for the change? Can’t find something you need to do to manage your lists and need it right now? You can switch back until July 15.
How do I switch back?
After you log into your account (you are using two step, aren’t you?) go into your profile settings and click the big grey button “Use Old MailChimp”. The following images will walk you through the steps:
First, click on your name to open up the My Account slider window:
Next, in the dark grey window, click on Account Settings
Then, click on My profile.
Finally, click on the big grey button “Use Old MailChimp”
That’s it! You did it.
How you can prepare to be comfortable with new Mail Chimp?
- Read the articles and watch the videos that introduce the change.
- Set aside time each day, or at least twice a week to work with the new interface. I will be! I really like time blocking to help me get things like this done.
- If you’d like to practice more, make a new test list consisting of yourself, your employees, and a trusted customer or two and test signing up, editing subscribers, and sending a campaign.
